The title might be confusing, however this paricular Melaleuca species was one of the first taken back to the UK by Sir Joseph Banks. The seeds were planted in the in the Tresco Abbey on the Scilly Isle in 1789. Also in the Arboretum in Cornwall where it is often under snow.
Melaleuca cuticularis ( salt water paperbark/ swamp paperbark)
This tree though has never seen snow, it was collected about 8/9 years ago from the Albany region of Western Australia.
It is styled in the classic informal upright as it was growing like that when dug, refinement of the branches and twigs follow the trusted 2x2 method.
It is also part of a trial with a new backdrop, as you can see when the sun shines in WA even black wont stop it getting though.
Cheers Pup

Re: Old Mel
Very elegant tree Pup. Love the presentation too.
To my eye a slightly wider pot would balance the tree a bit better.
Where did you get the Kingfisher?
Regards,
Steven
