Pieris disease help

Post by Anth »

I noticed the start of this on one of my trees about 2 weeks ago and thought that maybe it was sun burn . It has progressively got worse and the I noticed it on another tree a few days ago. Its only on the new growth and the stems of the affected foliage seem to just snap off realy easy.
Anyone have any idea what it could be
Cheers

Hi Anth

I think you may be correct, sunburn. Usually effects new soft growth.

I would look closely at the leaves as there could be a sucking insect problem. Maybe spider mite. Look for webbing and evidence of spots where the mites are or have been sucking. Might not be the case but you should cover all potential exigencies.
