Please help identify this native

Post by PeterH »

I have had this native for a few years. It has not flowered yet so it has been hard to identify. I am hoping some one may be growing it. I think it may be a Kunsea but not sure. If it can be reduced to species that would be excellent.

Regards,

Peter

Hi Marcela,

Thank you for your reply. I already have a ericoides and the leaf is 3 time longer and has also flowered. This one is from the same group of plants I bought some years ago.

Regards,

Peter

Gday Peter.
How about Kunzea Muelleri?
I have one of these and yours looks very similar to mine.
No flowers on mine either yet although mine is very young.

Nice looking tree!
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Peter some close up pics of foliage & bark would help but from the images given I would say Leptospermum, possibly one of the polygalafolium subspecies...

Hi Boics,

Hard to find a closeup of the juvinille growth on the net. I will keep that one in mind, Thanks.

Aus Dog,

I have attached some pictures as close as I can photograph.

Peter

After some web surfing it looked like Kunzea capitata but have found a variation of that one that looks closer. Kunzea Badja Carpet.
