Jacaranda cutting
I've been taking cuttings of just about everything this year. Here's a small branch off the tree out the back that I took about 4 weeks ago. I have baby jacaranda leaves unfolding! They're cute.

Re: Jacaranda cutting
Haven't had a lot of luck with Jacaranda cuttings lately...seeds are a different story. Emptied a couple of seed pods into a seed tray several weeks ago & now I have dozens & dozens of little jacaranda's! Wonder if I'll be able to get a couple of dollars each at the markets?
Good luck with the cutting.
Cheers

Good luck with the cutting.
Cheers

Re: Jacaranda cutting
Yeah it's a bit early to pin my hopes on mine yet... The other one is smaller and it's a little slow but has some new shoots. The one pictured is a thick cutting, probably an inch thick.

Re: Jacaranda cutting
Sorry to hear the cutting died - hopefully you have success this time. I haven't tried Jacaranda's I will keep watching to see how you are going, might give me the inspiration to give it a go.
Good Luck !

Re: Jacaranda cutting
You could also try airlayering.
So the Redwood turns to the Bonsai and says "Lend me a Tenner"......

Re: Jacaranda cutting
Airlayer should be a easy to do and have great results.
If you have a tree with some interesting movement, then layer it off so you can start with a larger trunk.
if you cannot layer, then scout around in spring /summer for soem seedlings and collect them. Pot up and let them grow unhindered.
