I love it. It reminds me of tall slender trees in forest competing for light and hence, grow tall.

Thank you all for the generous feedback. :D

I'm going to try some wire on some of the branches again to see how it looks. As for separating the trunks a little a slight rotation to the right and a slight tilt back does give a bit more separation of the trunk lines. I'll get a photo with the pot chocked a little.

Just in case there is a little confusion, it is not a group planting but a multi trunk. They are fused together in a ring. I don't know wether it was a group of seedlings originally, or a main trunk that has died and left shoots. Although there is no evidence of a dead trunk.

I had the pleasure of seeing this tree in real life today and might i say it's weirdly beautiful. Looks surprisingly good in real life. Doesn't look out of proportion at all. :tu:

This was one of the trees chosen from the native bonsai exhibition in Canberra for the critique this morning. Plenty of positive comments about it and I'm sure more than a few have had their 'sumo' thinking challenged as a result. Thanks for bringing it down and showing it Dan.

Thanks Neil.

I had a great weekend and was welcomed by many great friendly people. Roger Hnatiuk's word for the tree was delightful and many of the comments he made resonated with my own relationship with the tree. I know it's only young and immature, just like me and my relationship with bonsai. But it will grow and I will grow with it.

I had a great time at the symposium on native plants and I will update my other post on my experiences there when I have a chance. A great credit and  to those that made the event possible, including yourself shibui. :hooray:
