A cover up of a Callistemon at the NBPCA

Post by Grant Bowie »

Bought a Die Grinder, did the bumping and grinding and then covered it up.

This is a tree that is on display for most of the year and is much loved by the visiting public. I tidied up some old cuts with a Die Grinder at first to reduce the large areas and then finished it off with three different bits on a Dremel.

The Die Grinder seems to be a new model and was quite inexpensive. Just one speed but very easy to use, with a clever safety switch on the handle so you don't have to take your hand off the tool to turn it off.

Although the scars were at the back of the tree, this particular tree can be seen from the back while on display as it is in the centre of the Bonsai Pavilion at the NBPCA.

I think the original owner would be very happy :)
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

The one I have left is bursting out all over as well with a bit of luck it will be OK for the show in Fremantle this October!
We have had 93 mms of rain here over the weekend, that is here I am not sure what Perth got.
Keep up the good work mate :) Pup

We would kill for that amount of rain in Canberra. Still my tanks at home are full going into the growing season and I survived last summer without having to use any town water on my own bonsai.
