Two Great Blokes and their Figs

Post by DavidWilloughby »

Hi all,

I thought I would share a couple of photos that were taken yesterday of two stalwarts of Australian Bonsai, some of you might have already seen these already.

The first photo, for those of you who do not know, it is Noel Summerell and he is holding one of the original (the first one he noticed) Little Ruby Figs he uncovered in 1987 and also a close up of the tree. If any of you have a Little Ruby Port Jackson Fig, he is the man to thank.

These next couple of shots, for those who do not know, it is Ric Roberts and he is standing alongside one of his Port Jackson Figs and even if I do say so myself, its in a rather fitting location.

Hi Ken,

No mate, nothing special other than the day ended with a Y :tounge: Illawarra Bonsai Society has a weekly workshop at Noel's place that I attended on Sunday and asked him if I could take a photo of him and his original Little Ruby, which he didn't have a problem with. The shot of Ric and his Port Jackson Fig, you will see a similar photo of it in the not too distant future ;) .

Cheers

David
