Correct identification but the name Sergeants juniper is a complete misnomer dating back to the early 1980s.

Its correct name is Shimpaku juniper or Juniperus chinensis "Shimpaku".

No worries, old habits are hard to break.

"The" Seargents Juniper is an American prostrate growing grown cover.

Can't possibly be called a Sergeants Juniper, nowhere near fat enough. Possibly a Diggers Juniper or at a stretch a LanceJack Juniper. Also can't be a Corporal Juniper because it is not strong and powerful and looking fantastic. ;)
So the Redwood turns to the Bonsai and says "Lend me a Tenner"......

Looks like Squamata.
“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be like water, my friend.”

I would say J. procumbens too but procumbens and squamata are quite similar so could be difficult to be sure, especially while it has juvenile foliage like this one. The name will not make any difference to how you look after it. Both will be treated the same way.

Also any care tips, I don't really know the ins and outs of looking after it, all I know it hasn't died but their are a few yellow needles where new branches are turning brown
