Thanks guys..

Re: Feeding
Pup, are you saying that you never stop fertilizing? Do you change your regime at all during the year?Pup wrote:Never stop except when it is presipitating on fert day wait till the next day.
After seeing your trees I would like to know what you do, could you please describe your process?
Thanks
Scott.

I use chemical fertilisers.Scott Roxburgh wrote:Pup, are you saying that you never stop fertilizing? Do you change your regime at all during the year?Pup wrote:Never stop except when it is presipitating on fert day wait till the next day.

Scott.
On my exotics I use Phostrogen all year at fortnightly intervals.
On my natives I alternate between Phostrogen and Miraclegro for Azaleas and Camellias.
One fertilise with Phostrogen next with miraclegro.
I do not use miraclegro on Ficus species, as it is high in Nitrogen and we do not want large leaves.
The Phosphorus content in either one has never caused me any problems with my natives.
I use at the manufacturers recommended dose. Not half or quarter.
I hope this helps

Re: Feeding
Remember Scott I live in WA, where it is a different climate to yours. We seldom get minus temps in 15 years living where I do I have had 2 frosts.Scott Roxburgh wrote:thanks pup i'll have to keep my eyes open for Phostrogen!
Cheers

Peter Adams is quoted as using it as a low Nitrogen fert. In winter in the UK.

Re: Feeding
Thanks for the great advice Pup on fertilising.
I have been completely confused as everywhere seems to give a different set of rules.
Having seen some of your trees I'll give it a go.
PS. Awesome trees Pup

Whilst walking through the forest of Bonsai Myths, I found a single small tree.
From it I learned all I needed to know.
