bamboo is quite easy to grow in tasmania, here's one of mine.
i also thought it was fitting, because it has an acacia with it...

I bought a nice variegated bamboo on Sunday. I will try to upload pics soon. Do they need much fertilizer? I've heard they are big on water....

i give this one the same fert as all the rest... the acacia doesn't seem to mind either.
maybe that's why this bamboo has grown that long 90cm shoot in about 3 weeks
