A local nursary have "Bare Rooted" trees for winter delivery. Has any one had any success with this kind of stock? What variety should I look out for?

Re: Bare Rooted?
I have never bought any for bonsai, but my only word of caution is be careful of grafted plants as the graft never really seems to intergrate into a bonsai properly in my view. But it is a great way to buy fruit and maple stock.

Re: Bare Rooted?
Hi Raymond , mate i sell bare rooted pre bonsai every Winter and have never had an issue nor have my customers . I ship all accross the East Coast so if you find good material in a local nursery { being mindful of nasty grafts } grab it . With bare rooted plants you get to see the roots prior to purchase .
Cheers .Alpineart
