[ID] Native?

Kind of looks like a Silk Tree (Albizia) but the flowers don't look quite right. Curious to hear what the answer is

Flower almost looks bottle-brush-y.

It's popped out hundreds of seed pods which look similar to a Jacaranda seed pod.

Research continues! (While at work of course... What you think I actually work hard at my day job? Haha)

The bi-pinnate leaves are just throwing me off completely.

I can find tree's with a similar flower, or a similar leaf, but unable to find one species with both features.

This is a real mystery to me!

Try googling Albizia yellow flowers .

I actually thought of Albizia, but couldn't find any with a flower similar to the one pictured.

The Albizia flowers looked finer then this one did and the leaves larger... which is what was throwing me off. Am very curious now

Hmm well I can imagine the bipinnate leaves making it slightly inconvenient...

But sure I'll have a crack at it!

Collected some seed today and noticed some, which had fallen to the ground among debris of old leaves and twigs had already germinated. Also noted back buds growing strongly on some old trunks of the trees.

Despite the bipinnate compound leaf I think this species will look pretty good as a medium size bonsai due to the small size of the lobes.

Will start a new thread to follow the progression.
