Azalea Identification - Satsuki 'Chojuho' [solved]

Hi all
I purchased this Azalea ( Satsuki I believe) at Bonsai by the harbour a few years ago, and have no idea of the variety.
Can someone help me find out what it is?

Hi kcpoole,
If the flower is changing colour to green(ish) and stays on for a longer time, than it's a Satsuki 'Chojuho' - it looks very much like one!
I also suggest you take some flower buts off where there are more than two together - like on the last picture near your thump on the right!

Yes the flowers fade to greenish over time ( which is a long time actually)
I will take another when they do

I finally got my hands on some from Ray Nesci, and have taken a number of cuttings to propagate. They seem to grow slower and take a bit longer to thicken than other Satsuki that I have, mainly Osakazuki.

What is your experience with it Ken? Your tree is larger/older than mine.

I have done little to it except repot into Kanuma and a larger pot.
Seems to backbud really well like all Azaleas, and is very easy to propagate. I have a few cuttings growing and the top section will be cut off and used again Currenlty using as a sacrifice to thicken the base as you say they are a bit slow

It was purchased from I have no idea where by a visitor from western Australia, with the intention of them taking it back home. They were advised that it would not be allowed into WA on the plane so they put it up for the Silent auction there and I purchased it.
