Wisteria up rooted. One stubborn lady!
About a month ago, after defoliation I cut off the long creepers, and left it. A few days ago John dug a trench around it but it still stuck firmly. I filled in the trench with its soil to avoid the feeder roots (it heaps) from drying and watered it.
Yesterday I huffed and puffed had to rest, then attacked it again. It had four really thick roots, including the tap root, but go it loose eventually. I put it in a really big concrete pot, that I can't move, in the shade. For stability I placed a dog lead fixture used for dog showing. And loosely wired it to it.
I watered it well to see the soil mix was draining and today gave it some weakened Seasol.
I'll name mine Lynney. After my friend of 50 years, ex Army Captain Nurse, Afghan dog judge and lover, and Psyche admissions sister eventually. Never come between her or her dogs. Lovely nature mind you, she is like a sister to me.
I intend to leave it for now, before any more pruning. It has never flowered as it is only about six years old, I think? I bought it in 2010 as a pot plant, then planted it out possibly 3 years ago.
