'Botanica' exhibition Watt Space Gallery
Hi All
Im plesed to announce My collaborative exhibition with fellow artist Alysha Fewster.
Botanica
So often the subtle fleeting beauty of the tiny veins in a leaf, or the curvature of a branch reaching for the sun, go unnoticed as the visual clamor of the world fights for our attention.
Whilst artists throughout history have endeavoured to render the beauty of nature in paint and ink, this exhibition takes small samples of nature its self and place it in the gallery space, offering a detailed glimpse of nature at a human scale in an art context. By bringing our work, which glorifies nature, into a space which is relatively visually neutral, we aim to highlight the delicate and fleeting intricacies nature offers, which are so often over looked.
This exhibition will feature a collection of both Eco Dye works by Alysha Fewster and contemporary bonsai displays by I, Hugh Grant. This exhibition will experimentally pull bonsai into a Fine Art context and offer new light upon Australian Bonsai.
Where: Watt Space Gallery, University House, corner of Auckland & King Streets, Newcastle.
When: October 15th - November 2nd 2014
Open: Wednesday - Sunday, 11am - 5pm (closed Mondays and Tuesdays)
Opening Night and celebrations: Thursday 16th October 6 - 8pm.
Regards,
Hugh Grant

Fantastic Hugh

Given the length of time (inside I presume?), will you be replacing you trees every couple of days?
Best of luck, always great to see bonsai in new contexts

and please

Cheers, Ryan

Can I save your video? I'd like to watch it later. Fantastic. I wish I lived closer. Well done there man. By the way, in the video, you sound Canadian or American, or is it a different person?
