Larch leaves turning brown

Post by CraigM »

Hi,

Noticed couple of the leaves towards the ends of the smaller branches turning brown. Any idea what could cause this, too much water (don't think so as only water when starts drying out), and seem to recall larch donlt like wet roots. Perhaps too dry, although don't recall ever drying out completely, or something else. :lost:

Tree was repotted month or so ago before buds burst, and is growing well except for the odd pesk caterpillar that has taken up residence, need to go hunting with a torch.

Hi CraigM . It could be damage to the bud just before it opens . Larch are really sensitive at bud burst and it doesn't take much to 'bruise ' them at this stage even just brushing against them with your fingers . If it is that it will grow out of it quickly .
