Re Potting while flowering.....Micromyrtus .
Hi All, I collected several Micromyrtus last December and have re potted most. I have several that I never got around to and I was hoping to re pot now but they have exploded with flowers. Should I wait for the flowers to finish or go for it ? Thanks John.

I have always cut the flowers off and then repotted and always with success. The energy into the flowers is pushed into foliage growth but i am in Victoria and on exotics and some Natives but not Micromyrtus. Having said that i cant see why not.

I think it is ok to repot when in flower. If you are concerned remove some or all of the flowers as recommended by Bodhi - You are likely to be pruning anyway?
i have found our local micromyrtus a bit temperamental - Prone to just suddenly dying for no real reason, a bit like WA plants so good luck with yours. They have really incredible trunks and such tiny leaves and flowers. A good bonsai with one will be incredible.

Thanks Bodhi and Shibui, I will go ahead as planned, and cut back as I go . .I picked up a group of four recently, potted up in polly box .They were al firing and then one just died in front of my eyes .So maybe it was not my poor horticulture skills after all. John.
