Oh, I can attest to their cunning. Like the part where they'll sit on a fence and watch you pick up a rifle, load it, wait until you lift it up and are about to have them in your sights before they take off -_-

So update on yesterdays disater 3 of my plants have turned yellow and are looking like they are dead/dying they were the 3 the crows got the worst so i have lost an azalea, buxus and a cotoneaster the other 3 are looking like they will be ok its such a shame as im only newish doing bonsai and still learning and having a hard enough time dealing with it all let alone evil crows having a go but oh well ill just have to wait to replace them

Don't give up on them just yet. Plants under stress will often drop leaves to cope but will then grow new ones and recover. I work on the principle that they are not dead until they have not had leaves for a full year

nah definitely not giving up on them will have them in the ground till after next spring and if no new growth or colour change by the end of next spring then ill get rid of them have the room till then so no issue leaving them in the ground hope they survive but i highly doubt it

Hi mate,
Don't give up. The advise shibui has shared in his last post is good. There have many times when I thought I had lost a tree/trees, but have given them Seasol and months later new growth has emerged. When your new to bonsai it can be very disappointing when you loose, or think you have lost a tree. Been there and done that many times.

Hi MOGGINATOR,
Here is a classical case where you could make the wrong assumption. I had a problem with my watering system a couple of months ago. I have now replaced it with a different brand. The watering failed for a 2-3 days in my shade house. I thought I may have lost a number of trees. There were 30-40 Trident maples and a native. I left them alone and just gave them a drink of Seasol regularly. All the trees are recovering. The following couple of photos of the native will show what can happen. So don't give up and be willing to wait for a while to see what happens. One day I hope it may become a little mini.

I swear, seasol sounds like both the duct tape AND WD-40 of the bonsai world.

mine look very similar to them pics hopefully they come good using a bit of seasol every 2 - 3 days hopefully they will live

I'm slowly beginning to hate birds as a bonsai enthusiast.

I have a Blackbird that de-mosses every tree he can about once a week. I see him looking at me in the back window as i get ready to leave the house. haha.

Or maybe i'm just imagining it.....
