Some New Larch

OK so I picked up my new Japanese Larch today, These guy are about 10-12 year old and have been grown in Melbourne, ten minutes from my place so they look happy with the climate

The single tree is nice and lush and has been in full sun and will get a trim and some wiring shortly but today I will just enjoy it as is. The group plating was under shade cloth and crowded amongst other plants so there is some die back and moss on the trunks that I will remove tonight while having a cold beer I know it doesn't tick all the boxes but I love it .... its like the spooky forest

That group looks very natural I like it already. Nice work. I see what you mean about spooky if you look closely there's a litle rundown weatherboard house just round the corner.

Yep you've done well. Just wish there was a supplier in tamworth hard to get good stock up here! Sorry a bit jealous. Can't wait to see what you have in mind

Met Tien this week after my first visit to his place ... The amount of stock was incredible! Very impressive - a bit of a hike from my neck of Melbourne but totally worth the trip. I didn't pick anything up this time (just wanted to have a look really) but I doubt that will be the case on my next visit. Nice score!

Tien is a great bloke, he runs a bonsai study group most Saturday mornings free of charge and is more than happy to share his knowledge, prospective and most of all ... his time! to anyone who attends, and that got to be a credit to the bonsai community Right!.

I should say that I have had few PM's asking what I paid for the tree's so I will tell you now that I paid $350 for the lot, $150 for the grouping/forest and $200 for the singe tree ... bloody ripper price I reckon
