So far I have Branch Cutter, Prune Scissor, Wire Cutter but I'm after Root Rake (single), Jin Pliers and either Trunk Splitter or Knob Cutter (whats the recommended Trunk splitter or Knob cutter for jin as well as which one will be used the most)
I purchased from both Ray Nesci and Megumi, but has anyone purchased online for Bonsai Environment and got the exact item that was described on the site?

Yeah I'm happy, tools are sharp, feel nice in the hand, do what they are supposed to do so no problems. I would buy more ryuga tools if I needed more

You can get away with a piece of bent steel rod as a root rake or go to the horse shop and look for a hoof pick.I use mine a lot. A piece of sharpened stick will do almost the same job and is easily replaced.
You can use any pair of pliers as jin pliers. They just squash the bark so it peels off easier and grab the wood to peel it down when refining the end of a new jin. Try a cheap pair of pointy nosed pliers from the tool shop until you can afford the real thing.
Trunk splitter and knob cutter are quite different. Knob cutter would not be much use for jin. I rarely use my knob cutters but when you do need them there is nothing else that will do the job. Trunk splitter does not get used much either but very handy when you do need it.

I use my knob cutter just about every time I trim a branch. I think I have used splitter 2 times in 2 years
