[ID] New Bonsia ID please.

Post by tudorandrew »

Hello All,
I am a complete newbie to bonsai, but have recently received (4 months ago) a bonsai as a gift so am interested in getting an ID on it.
I Have been religiously watering it since I got it and now it has really began to take off so I need to start to thinking about pruning and shaping to reign it back in. However I would like to know the Species so I can learn the correct techniques for this particular species.
I know the bonsai was purchased from a bonsai salesman at the Eumundi Markets in QLD, but the ID tag was misplaced before I received it. Anyway I have attached some pictures below:

Thank you for your help.

Hi there
It's the most common bonsai species in this country known as juniper squamata prostrata, we just call it juniper. And there are loads of info on this forum regarding how to train it.

Good luck and welcome to the world of bonsai. :tu: :tu:

Regards
