My favourite Bonsai
Was going through my Bonsai Photos and realised I had a nice little progression going and thought it would be nice to share. Get them interested early I say!

Re: My favourite Bonsai
Coming along nicely! I have three of those myself, but I haven't found a way to slow their growth down yet.
Cheers, Karl

Re: My favourite Bonsai
I agree with lackhand, my 4 are getting quite leggy and ramification is a problem. May be over-fertilised

Mine does not respond well to defoliation.

Re: My favourite Bonsai
Need to exercise a little caution tho as after a couple of years they grow like weeds and get very expensive to maintain. End result is well worth the effort.

Re: My favourite Bonsai
I hear they are difficult to train, and don't respond well to wiring.

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

Re: My favourite Bonsai
Hi Mount Nasura,
Love the photos. I also have three of these. These grow so well that they tend to put out suckers. At present I have to deal not only with the original three but another six suckers, and it looks like the suckers will also put out their own suckers.
Regards Ray

Re: My favourite Bonsai
I am just a newbie, having only one so far. Not in a training pot yet, and wiring is absolutely not working..

I got told that creating a sumo style was bad for their health.
So the Redwood turns to the Bonsai and says "Lend me a Tenner"......

They try to tell you they like living inside, especially once they start getting their mature bark, but it's good to put them out in the sun during the day

My favourite Bonsai
Mine seems to continuously have weeds!!
I have very sharp 'secateurs' to take care of these weeds but they are coming faster than I can 'remove' them!
Seems to upset the development and I have to really focus on the after-care! It's my favourite so I just can't bring myself to get rid of it... Flamin weeds!
Cheers
