Hi to all... I've never had the opportunity to go to the Annual Bonsai Sales day before...do you have to be a Member of a Club or is it Ok being a Member of AB...? Is there an Entry Fee...? What should I expect to see there, & does the sale include starters, semi trained and Advanced completed bonsai...?
Also is it just the Bonsai Nurseries in Sydney that bring their stock and put them on display to be sold on the day, or does it include other enthusiasts selling their own creations.
I'd really like to attend, just have to swap shifts around at work.
Would like to hear from those who have attended previously... or those that have their own stalls as to give me the run down on what happens on the day.

Rock up, spend all of your money and go home with a massive smile on your face.Bonsaiforest wrote:or those that have their own stalls as to give me the run down on what happens on the day.

I've never been to this one specifically, but even if you don't buy anything it will be a good experience to expose yourself to bonsai and bonsai people.

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

I went a couple of years ago.
Mostly semi trained and advanced from memory.
There was a lady there with enormous figs when I was there. 2 man lift bonsai.
I think she wanted about 450. It was definitely cheap.....

I'll be one of the sellers on the day.
I will have good quality starters from $20 up to display-quality trees for $300. I try to price for half what I'd expect to pay at a bonsai nursery.
Other sellers may have better trees for more money.

I will be one of the sellers on the day; but as my first post here I am going to be offering a FREEBIE. I will have some large containers of KANUMA potting media for Satsuki Azalea. I will have a scoop; you supply a bucket or a bag and you can have some for free. First come; first served! One normal bucket size maximum per customer.
I am not growing any Satsuki and need the space for my pallets of Tokoname pots coming later in the year.

Just read that comment in isolation while flicking through this post... I chuckled. No offence to the lady with the big figs....

Does anyone have any sort of clump/raft style conifers for sale that I can pre order before the day? Preferably untrained as far as foliage and branch placement is concerned.

Hello all. I will be trying to sell some, no black pines though. However I will have some parrottia Persia, so Chinese elms, olives, crepe myrtle and Japanese maple and a podocarpus forest. Some are in bonsai pots and some in black pots.
