A couple more
[]Between here and FB I have lost a couple of pictures, still trying to find them. It was a couple of shots of the larger of the three trees. One was showing the ramification, so I will keep searching for it. Meanwhile here are the others.
Cheers Pup
The reason for saying species, it has attracted a lot of conjecture so it is easier to say species.Cheers Pup

Re: A couple more
Patience and time, starting with the right stock.
Repotting is done every 6 months, sometimes less sometimes more.
I have been doing it for few years now,I think I am finally getting it right.
Cheers pup

Geez Pup,
Do you repot "everything" 6 monthly?
Mate I was thinking of stretching out to every second year...

Re: A couple more
No Macca only my Mame Shohin, my other trees are repotted as needed. Some tree can go as long as10 years for slow growing species, like some pines and junipers.macca66 wrote:Geez Pup,

My potting is done all year round depending on species.

Thanks Pup,
I've been having a go at this for a while now and still scratch my head
So many different ideas and methods, I've posted before in other threads that i feel we can over think things.
Maybe I should listen to myself... ( again

Lovely trees Pup and i agree wholeheartedly about repotting. You have to learn your species and repot accordingly. Because of other commitments i have not routinely repotted some of my trees for four years now and still they push on because of good feeding habits. Not Elms though, every year, if possible for them. Perth has that wonderful Mediterranean climate and you could repot year round

Re: A couple more
I have more natives in my collection so summer is easy, I have potted Ficus in Winter! just to see how it went no problems, just keep them close to the walls of the house under the eves.bodhidharma wrote:Lovely trees Pup and i agree wholeheartedly about repotting. I now have an enclosure with an alsenite roof, so my ficus grow just about all year.

Re: A couple more
The flyer they are using has two of my Shohin trees at two years old from start. They might be in there this time.Mount Nasura wrote:exceptional, will we see any of your trees in the coming show?
Have to see how I am feeling. They appear to think I might fall off the perch on them, so give me time off, I might say it is not for good behaviour.
Cheers Pup

Cannot answer that as both members are of the workshop, Arthur might be there but you will have to ask him.Raymond wrote:It wouldn't be the same without you there Pup.
