Azalea, Kurume?

Picked this guy up yesterday and was hoping someone could put a name to it. Im going to spend the lead up to spring spraying this guy for lace bug and feeding it, hopefully so I can start reducing it [foliage/root mass].













My little helper was ever present.

Great interesting trunk, I think it would make a nice small tree.
Can't help with the ID, but your right about the lace bug. I would suggest confider balls in case your cat is tempted to nibble the leaves

Yep, another shohin for the collection.

Thanks for the tip, I will try the tabs and see how they go compared to the spray. Apparently has a NPK of:

5.6 – 5.4 – 4.2

I will see if that and some fresh soil doesn't make a difference.

I don't think it is a kurume, it's an Indica.Only one earth by the look of the flower's.Don't worry about t flowers now,but I would cut it back really hars ,keeping the branches you really need,get rid of the old potting mix, and repot it.Ist year let it grow feral,then prune in late summer ,This allows time for the roots to grow,and gives you multiple choice of branches.Go for vegetative growth first,and let flower 3rd year.

Ok thanks, but in its current state Id rather nurse it back to health before doing anything drastic. Its my first azalea so I will take a reserved approach to training it for now.

Yeah she inspects all the new material in the yard as it comes in.







She even helped me with my big callistemon the other day too:
