Sno's new quince
I love quince ,probably because they are one of the first things to flower in spring . All of my quinces are still in the developing stages so they aren't worth showing off today . But . I got this variety early in winter from Ray's .it was labelled as miniature quince . I'm training it to grow in a spiral twisted shape . Just had to show the flowers before it rains tomorrow, because it is too beautiful not to share .

One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

Re: Sno's new quince
Hi Andrew most.of the quince I have are in the ground and they just flower anyway .The few that I have in pots I am developing the branches . I feed them over spring , summer and autumn with comfrey and manure teas whenever I have time ,maybe once a fortnight .the ones in pots I tend to cut the branches back hard in autumn to try and get some taper . They still spot flower but not the same amount as if you let them grow a bit .Andrew F wrote:What is your feeding regime up until flowering? Looks great by the way.
This one I am going to cut quite hard back because I want to take summer cuttings .
I'd love to see pics and I'm keen to buy or swap rooted cuttings .Boics wrote:Yep.

Yes the pot is a stunner .I'm not sure where I got it from .

Hi Treeman . It's the only orange I have so I can't compare . I am always looking for more but around here they only have the more common chaenomles .treeman wrote:Very nice. Quite a pale orange?

Re: Sno's new quince
Hi Sno.
I actually tried to loop a branch under the soil to create a raft / cutting last season.
Unfortunately it failed, if I get a minute I'll try it again.
Mine is literally a small nothing - just growing and enjoying flowers (which I often remove to promote growth).
I notice it's actually growing a quince now!
