The construction is irrigation pipe over star pickets. Its common around this region. Quick and cheap. Just Google,plenty of info.

This was a cheap solution to my problem of the late afternoon summer sun. It is also good protection for the sensitive trees in winter.

So some months later, finally got around to using the old fence palings and rails for some extra display benches in the yard, should have enough material to make at least 5 more of these.
