If its going to be a cold night which we will still have a few, should I bring it inside on the colder nights to try & increase the night temperature. Will this provide less stress on the tree. I think I might chop it right back to the knuckle below the two branches & try & develop a wider foliage from here?

Ryan unless you are in Newcastle in the UK itll be fine.
I recommend just putting it aside for a couple of years and go get a dozen other trees to distract you!
