Bonsai by the Beach 2016
This year our program has an emphasis on Australian natives and includes extra activities for those not participating in structured bonsai workshops. We encourage you to bring your own trees to work on, or participate in daiza making with our master carver, George Reissis. Our demonstrator/tutors are well known bonsai teachers Dennis McDermott and Clinton Nesci from The School of Bonsai.
Bonsai by the Beach is a workshop/educational weekend set in the beautiful peaceful surrounds of The Francis Retreat (formerly the Uniting Church Conference Centre) at Bonny Hills beach. Since its recent purchase by the Catholic Church the retreat has been repainted throughout, new flooring laid and new mattresses on the bunk beds. You have the choice of staying on site (full registration), or just attending during the day (day registration).
We do hope you will be able to join us again in March 2016 for another great weekend of bonsai and fellowship with both old and new bonsai friends.
Enclosed is the flyer for this great weekend.

Re: Bonsai by the Beach 2016
It was a great weekend of bonsai.
Dennis McDermott did the Saturday morning demonstration. He worked on a garden yamadori melaleuca.
He started with this: This is the end result. A windswept. The top branches, that poke up, will be worked on once the tree recovers from its reorientation program.
