Coastal mountain viewing stones

I found this stone on the beach and decided to cut it in two because it evokes, in me, a feeling of looking at distant mountain peaks. I'm not sure but it appears to be a siltstone. It is softish but what it lacks in hardness it more than makes up in an attractive mountain on waters edge weathered appearance. I will add and arrange this with other simliar stones from same area for a mountain scene penjiin. Yes I soaked the stones in fresh water for a while to rinse salt away!

I am not a stone person, but I really love what you are doing with your cutting and photography.

A suggestion for the above would be to cut one of them to sit just a bit lower than the other - the old 'asymmetry adds interest' line.

I agree entirely about the stone height issue. Probably should have photographed them individually or waited until I can present as a complete group. These two were left 'long' until I know exactly what's other stones will be included. Definitely needs to be an odd number.
