Juniperus Chinensis ''Blue Alps'' raft

This plant normally grows in the familiar V shape like many others. It has needle type leaves. It was trained by removing all but one trunk then laid down horizontally with the trunk buried until roots were formed along it. This happened in only one year! Two trunks have since died as you can see.
It has taken a few years to develop the branches (about 10) but from now on maintenance will get easier. Wiring etc. takes about 8 hours on this thing!

Please excuse the big pics. I have a new computer without the necessary reduction software. (or the necessary skill to use it?)

Did you have anything in mind for the 2 stumps after the wires come off?? Or will you just remove them altogether

Did you treat the underside of the trunk laid down with anything to speed up the formation of roots?

Reminds me of a logging forest with the two stumps there and remaining "trees" nice and tall haha. I really like it treeman, it looks like the hard work has paid off.

btw, for quick and dirty image resizing I use a free program called Irfanview. http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htmYou can download it, and plugins too, if you want to open raw files, and then it's just a matter of opening the image, going to Image/Resize, choose your size, and save it in a different place, or with a different file name, and bob's your uncle!

The stumps...I don't know if they will be of much consequence when the tree is finished so They will probably go eventually.

Daluke, I don't remember doing anything except remove the downward branches. These root really easily.
