Hi ALL,
Does anyone know about or has a Japanese Maple 'ARAKAWA' for sale?
Preferably NOT grafted - Tube, progressed stock plant or established Bonsai. Please PM, thanks.
Cheers, JRJ
I have a couple[I've had for 20yrs, but they are all grafted. You can easily disguise the graft, using different techniques. They are erratic from seed, and very slow growing.I originally got mine from Yamina Rare plants, grafted, but good stock.Yamina are in the Dandenongs. Not easy to find.Try also the Maple nursury, in Little Hartley, over the Blue Mountains..Worth a trip.
Maple Springs in Little Hartley don't carry any Arakawa/Rough bark, or Nishiki Gawa/Pine bark anymore. They used to, but had too many issues with the cultivars being fussy and not hardy enough. When I was there I picked up a very small 'Kashima" though, which I have big plans for.
