Recent Pot purchase

Post by kb bonsai »

I recently purchased half a dozen pots from a seller on Gumtree. When I got them home and started to clean them up I noticed that this particular pot , although nothing special to look at , had a rather obvious makers mark underneath and some odd "striation" marks around the inside where it appeared the lip / rim had been added separately.
I don't know anything about pots and wondered if this was anything more significant than just another cheap mass produced one ?

Maybe someone out there can help
Thanks

These are mass produced Chinese pots. They are usually used for growing on.
When I was helping a nursery in the late 80/early 90 he would import them in the hundreds. Differing sizes.
The were just packed with a news paper wrapped and tied with string.
The amazing thing was no that's right no breakages.

I am not a complete fool, some parts are missing
