I'm guessing these trees are tropical, since they're in Hawaii. They appear to be Casuarina equisetifolia, an introduced tree that grows very tall, and also has amazing nebari.

More amazing nebari, this time Elaeocarpus ganitrus. I saw the blue berries and immediately thought of our very own tree, however this one is from India, apparently. This is a grove of trees planted next to a monastery. The sign stated that it was the only grove of these trees in the United States of America.

Hi Mel
Great place I was there not long ago,don't be fooled by there trees,remember volcanic islands,seed blew in,seed washed in and seed flew in from Australia,New Zealand and USA.

The cas they call iron wood,the great baulk is from good ole Aus.

And that white sand is from Illawarra,Newcastle and Californian beaches but you probably new that..hope you had fun..cheers Anthony
