Red Petiole.

Hello everyone.

Out at the benches this evening and I noticed the Petiole's on my MB Ficus have turned an off shade of red.

I've narrowed it down to either a Nitrogen or Sulfur deficiency. Can anyone by chance narrow it down a little further from some mediocre photography?

I'm going to give my trees a feed tomorrow so I guess it should be perfectly fine and doesn't really matter, was more curious if anything.

Hello Pearcy,

I am inclined to believe the season is the culprit of your reddening petioles.
Many evergreens and grasses do naturally change their foliage colours to the reddish / purplish tones during the cooler months.
I personally would not be concerned and suggest you get yourself a coldie and not concern yourself whatsoever, actually have a couple, you may find a red tinge develop upon yourself too.

I'll see your red petiole and raise you a red midrib,
The nights here are getting down to -2C and my MB's have turned an extreme red, but had a pinkish hue to them through summer, so I am curious aswell Pearcy as maybe some sort of deficiency. interested to here if anyone else is having the same problem,

Haha Kevin. I'm nursing a sore head now, after a couple too many cold ones last night. Luckily I didn't turn green :beer:

Wasn't concerned with this one, was more just wanting to know so I can easily identify it in the future.

I haven't been fertilising the best of late and my trees have been very wet from the rain.
