I have a Disease.. Large pots needed !

Post by Grainer »

Hey all,

Yes I have it bad.. I love large bonsai.. and I mean up to 1m tall and 30-40 wide trunks with large base. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to get very large bonsai pots at good prices. For now I have decided to use 55 gallon drums (cut up) to hold my trees until I find the right pots.

cheers.

Bonsai World on the Central Coast of NSW has a shedload of pots that overflows outside.

They recently had a new shipment of pots come in and they have more coming. Give Ashley a call and he will sort you out.

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

There are a few suppliers around Melbourne but advice would vary depending on exactly what you want and where you live. Club members will have lots of advice on where to try. Large pots can be expensive, often club sales days and exhibitions have some available sometimes used and sometimes at bargain prices. A good place to start would be at the Waverley Bonsai Club annual show this weekend possible to find just the pot you want and lots of people to ask where to look for a supplier
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Yes the plan was to make an appearance. I used to belong to Bonsai Northwest, but now with the move to Essendon I was thinking of either joining Waverly or Kew clubs, but I need to attend a couple of nights to see what they are like.

Hi Grainer, hope you can make it along to see our show this weekend, otherwise you're more than welcome to come along to visit one of our club nights

Waverley Bonsai Group: Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at St John’s Uniting Church Hall (Rear Hall enter via carpark), Virginia St, Mount Waverley. Start time is 8pm but everyone gets there a bit earlier. This month (16th Aug) is our AGM, so slightly different format to the usual club night, but you're more than welcome to come along have a chat and see what we do.

Otherwise I'm sure Gerard can show around BSV (Kew) ;) "Meetings are held at 7-30pm on the fourth Monday of each month except December at the Main Hall, East Kew Uniting Church, 142 Normanby Rd, East Kew"
