Current collection in winter

Hi guys! I thought I'd post some pics of my bonsai collection in winter just before they spring into life. Can't wait to see my maple forest in full bloom.I'm still a newbie so collection is still growing. Most have not been touched since I bought them, the port jackson I repotted, trimed and pruned about a week ago. It was rootbound in a hexagon pot which I didn't like and there was no roots showing up top, so now I've planted it abit higher so roots are exposed and I have it wrapped in plastic to protect roots while it's still abit frosty. Not shore if that's what your meant to do by the way, but tree is still alive and new shoots have started.
Feel free to point out anything not quiet right any info will be appreciated, I will take a picture again in full bloom just as a progress and record keep.

Hi TT where in Australia are you ? You should edit your profile to at least major town i.e. Sydney so advice can be given. I would treat that fig differently in Brisbane to someone in Melbourne, especially with out current heat wave

ICU wing, these have all come out of serious surgery, 1 from a hit and run, Jade got robbed and bashed and Jac got his head knocked off. All still need some serious surgery but will wait until next season. The jade plant was in bad shape I took alot of its bent cuttings and planted them are coming along nicely. I'm thinking of planting a Jade forest with them all bent in one way.

No idea what covering the roots on a newly repotted ficus might do except keep it wet and cold
If you want to protect it then I would place your cover over the entire tree.

Fig - Any time of the year, so long as minimum overnight Temps are above 16 deg C
Find a sunny spot next to a north facing wall and make sure no frosts get to it. I will repot tropicals during winter If MUST in Sydney, but anywhere colder I would not attempt it.

I wouldn't be doing anything to figs in the end of winter. They really need the warm weather of late spring and summer to overcome a root prune. Hopefully it will survive, just don't over water it. I've killed a few trees with enthusiasm . Figs can get by on so little soil that congested roots should never be a reason to root prune out of season. Make sure you put up a photo of that maple group planting when they start to leaf out!

Thanks Ken, that wiki page has now been bookmarked for future references, very handy. Unfortunately I got the trees before finding this forum, so when I purchased them the guy I bought them off said that none of them needed any treatment apart from the port jackson which could do with a repot in a few weeks time. So a week went past I trimed pruned and repotted and left it in the garage next to window with base wrapped up in plastic for a week. Its now outside as days have been sunier, but i still have base wrapped in plastic, I read somewhere on this forum or youtube that by keeping it wrapped it will keep the roots warmer, also by having the roots and trunk humid can increase root development on the surface.

Will definately post maple grouping once they start to leaf will be 1st time i see them bloom to

Nice day today so thought I'd take some photos, got a bit carried away but I know I'll enjoy them later on. Thanks for looking at my trees any tips and feedback always welcomed, still a newbie but don't be scared to use the stick instead of carrot.
