Collected driftwood bleaching
I have been trying to bleach a piece of collected driftwood to a white colour. I have applied 10 coats of straight Lime Sulphur so far with very little colour change. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to get the colour change, or do I just keep going with the lime sulphur?

As far as I know you need to give it a fair bit of time in the Sun too.....

Mr Kimura from Japan mixes a small amount of white acrylic paint, white oil and lime sulphur into a wash coat and applies to the surface with a brush.

the white oil also helps to bind the lime sulphur together a bit better.
Have you ever tried brushing lime sulphur straight from the bottle ? Its most difficult to apply.

Re: Collected driftwood bleaching
I usually wet the driftwood first and let it soak in before applying the lime sulphur, which helps it penetrate the wood.
Or you could try Mr Kimura's trick, he appears to know what he's doing!
Matt.
