Did this up as a whim from Nursery stock that I got months ago but were sitting minding their own business in the bottomless pit I call the 'side of the house'.
Put together a couple of weeks ago to show that 'on the cheap' (under $10.00) a bonsai can be started from healthy nursery stock, a cheap reclaimed pot, and a stick picked up whilst walking around.
Pot..$1.50 throw outs at Garden World.
Trees..$2.50 100mm pots...(3) Lemon Scented Cyprus/Juni or whatever.
Stump..Japanese Box Thorn.. found sitting on top of a rubble pile at Hanson Quarries Brooklyn (cleaned up and bleached)
In all 30 mins think time..5 min collection time for sundries..30 mins assemble.
Steve.

Re: $9.00 Bonsai
Define the foliage into distinct pads, thin down and refine the cut ends of the Deadwood and should look real nice
I like the bright green foliage colour
