A reworked Squamatta.

First efforts with the feature treeI liked but due to another Squatty being not really going were I wanted it I have decided the do a bit of reclamation and do a total re build using the stump from one and and the tree from another.

The stump came from here.

Have you thought about turning this into an informal upright by going 90 degrees anti clockwise?


Also, shouldn't you be fixing the live tree to the stump so there are no gaps?

No I haven't..It's been in the pot 36 hrs so my view is for now..The stump angle is how it was dug out originally with (3) main roots that were a foot under the ground.

Also, shouldn't you be fixing the live tree to the stump so there are no gaps?

Give me time.. Progression is the game..not instant results on older trees.
New stock well that may differ but thanks for noticing.

Very cool project!
It would be a real pity to waste that trunk, and building a tanuki style tree is a great way to keep it on display.
Looking forward to updates!

with a little hidden fine drilling I have brought the trunk in tighter to the trunk and wired down tight.
