Bonsai Society of WA - 40th Bonsai Celebration

Post by Jason »

Hi all!

It’s a big year for us this year, the Bonsai Society of WA is turning 40! To celebrate, we will be holding our annual exhibition, but with a bit of a difference this year. Not only will we have our annual display of quality Bonsai, our action packed demonstrations, and amazing sales area... but this year we will also be having activities for the kids! That’s right, bring the kids along for a day filled with fun and excitement for the young and old  We will be running children's activities throughout the day, with treasure hunts, demonstrations just for the kids, prehistoric saikei, and the opportunity to for the kids to create their very own bonsai, as well as much more.

Wow... you might be thinking this will cost you a fortune! But you would be wrong :o This year we are happy to announce that thanks to our sponsors we will be waiving the entry fee! :hooray: Doesn’t get much better than that ;)

The details of the show are as follows:

Time: 9.00am to 5.00pm
Date: 15th and 16th of October (Saturday and Sunday)
Where: Morley Sport and Recreation Centre, Corner of Wellington Rd and Mangini St, Morley, Perth (Opposite Coventry Village)
Cost: Free Entry!

If there are any questions, please feel free to send me a PM or reply to the post and I’ll be happy to answer them :) And if you make it to the show be sure to come and say hello!

We had a special show to encourage children to find various animals and objects in among the trees so now you know what the objects are. I was nervous all weekend.

Beautiful trees, lots of inspiration there. I really need to buy me a couple of bottle brush and tea tree, they look so fantastic.
Can I ask what is the last one in the first set with the variegated leaves please, cause i think I have a mature one in my backyard.

Thanks

Your a hard task master pup.
I'm sure he'll get around to it, likely hundreds of pictures to process. All takes time.

Lovely trees guys!
Impeccable quality.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful

It is a Metrosideros tormentosa,( Pohutukawa,New Zealand Christmas tree) very salt tolerant has red bottle brush type flowers. This one is a hybrid tree from the green leaved one.
