Actually had a look at that to see if it is on a single brnach or what, and strangely the tree is a tripple flower and only 1 flower in that clump has done it. I will keep all shoots from that node and see if it can be developed further

Tagging the branch now is an excellent idea

Hi Ken, a triple even more special. Yeah tagging flowers is the only way to find the branch. I use the little square bread/muffin sealer tags, or colour wire bread sealers. They stay put easy to find and don't damage the branch. Good luck with your kcpoole azalea.

I suspect that's an "Alphonse Anderson" azalea, Ken. They were very popular around 30 years ago, hardy as anything, will grow in full sun to partial shade, and throws sports regularly.

that age tallies with the age of the house where it came from, so I will go withthat.

I tagged the branch this arvo with soem blue tape for the moment and find a permanent tag later.
I closer inspection it is 2 of the 3 flowers in the clump that have sported like this so 2 outta 3 aint bad

got a chance to put a layer on it today, so hopefully shold take off and be able to separate later in the summer.

Forgot to ttake a pic of it during the process, but ring barked it at an angel to set the future trunk angle,
put a large pot around it and stuffed with spag Moss and then wrapped it all in Gladwrap to seal it up as the put is not level.

Lets wait and see what happens now.

Just caught up on this thread. What an adventure these trees are now on, bringing new life and purpose.
