Stewartia (how to make look glossy)

Hi folks,
I have one stewartia and I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to make to look glossy. It's very hard to find loads of information online about this tree. Do I peel off the scale of the bark? I have seen some trunk very glossy online so I thought how they do, what of material they are using etc.....
