Drove down to Geelong for this gig today and was really impressed with the sales area and the exhibition itself. Picked up a few pots and saw some really nice trees on display. Thanks to those involved for the hospitality... Very enjoyable show!

Just got back from the show, the first I have attended, very impressive and inspiring. Picked up 2 stock trees, so I will probably be asking alot of newbie questions in the very near future! Got plenty of pics too. I will upload some if that is allowed?

What trees did you get?

I picked up a juniper and ficus. not sure on exact ID, unfortunately I didn't have too much time to chat. I didn't notice a the time but the ficus has some pretty deep wiring scars on one of the branches, but I am more interested to see if I can keep them alive at this point, the previous few ignorant mitre10 purchases seem to be going quite well so far, considering!

Where are you located? If you are Geelong area. I would suggest if you are a beginner joining a club. If I had of joined a club instead of trying bonsai on my own I would of gained 15 years improving my trees instead of holding them back. I would be 15 years ahead of where I am now. Clubs are so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend. The Geelong show is ran by Geelong Bonsai Club. The standard of the show trees just highlights the quality and knowledge of Clubs and their trees.

Congratulations guys on the show. What an amazing display of trees. Managed to grab a XL Banksia to boot.
Well worth the trip.
