native street tree in brisbane

[attachment=2]i got some seeds off this tree and they germinated well
the flower is a small white bottle brush ~2cm
new growth is sickly yellow

It is hard to tell with something for scale on the leaves. It looks like a callistemon to me - they usually get new growth like that after heavy rain.

I was thinking of a melaleuca of some sort but the bark threw me a bit

yeh that looks about right common name here as black or river tea tree
