these two along with many others were grown from seed, The interesting thing is the foliage on the smooth bark which is much smaller and more profuse than number two. the nebari on this trees is good because the taproot was removed when it was transplanted as a seedling. the trees are about 8 years old.

Well done in only 8 years since seed
A stick in a pot is better than no stick at all. Remember even the best bonsai started as a stick.
