Tiger Defoliated.

Post by boom64 »

Hi all,
Following Anthony w and all his fantastic Figs ,I felt inspired to have a go myself on a few of my figs. Have never defoliated any of mine ,just growing to size then cutting back to get ramification. This exposed root has been neglected in development ,so good to clean up. It looks a little messy ,not sure if I should have thinned out as I was going. :?: There is a block of foam between two branches, trying to separate them. I was tempted to remove the vertical branch and after looking at the photos I think I will.
Any comments ,suggestions etc gladly appreciated .Yes the wiring is a little rough. ;) Cheers John.

Hello John,

I like your tree, it's quite inspiring too.
How many years from the first to last photo?

Kevin

Hi

Love the style you have created with this.

To me it would look fab on a Penjing slab or a longer pot set to one side as if growing on a mossy hill.

Hi John, mate I would say that's one to be proud of, nicely wired down.
I too would be interested to know the time frames of photo takes.
Good job

That a beautiful tree.
Looks great after wiring.
I think it would look great in a wide shallow pot with the nebari flattened out.
Nice work

Hi Kevin and Watty ,typically forgot to take a before photo all leafed out. This one was on the computer and I think from two summers ago. I was originally trying to reproduce a Tree growing on a river bank ,roots compressed on one side and the other side drawn long and flat. Just could not to get it to work.
A wider or penjing marble slab is definitely on the cards .
Anthony I don't know about gazumping you ,I am still drooling over those big Figs of yours. :)
Thanks for all the comments, Cheers John.

Really nice tree. Wish I had the time and patience to dedicate to wiring my trees as you have. One day perhaps.
