Participated in my first workshop on Saturday - Azaleas. The 3 nursery stock I took along I'd had for about a month. They flowered beautifully and I had been watering them once or twice a day depending on the weather. The root ball on all 3 were exposed to find they were all bone dry. So they spend a couple of hours soaking in water, then trimmed and advice was received on styling each. I brought them home and placed then in a solution of seasol overnight and then potted them up on Sunday with theirs (and my) first styling. These are the before and after of each.
1. Indica - Eri Schame
2. Indica - Rose King
I broke the long leader on the left complete off at the trunk whilst styling, so had to face the wound toward the soil, the straight branch is a sacrifice. Waiting for new buds.
3. Waya Kayede
Being my first styling(s), very happy with results. Looking forward to seeing where these will take me.
Cheers

Re: Azaleas first styling
They will back bud like mad in a few weeks, and when they do I decide then whether they are all useful, and remove any buds not needed in the trees future. No point wasting energy on something going to be removed later
