[ID] bottlebrush ID

Hi,

I have two of these plants growing out the front and i really like the look of them, I'm just trying to figure out which species of bottlebrush it is. I think its Callistemon citrons but just wanted to double check.

Leaves are about 35-50mm long and about 3-5mm wide, flowers are red. If you require anymore info please let me know.

Leaves and growth habit look very much like the cultivar 'Little John' which I believe is a hybrid between C. viminalis and another unknown parent.

Thanks for the reply, i just searched "little john" and they say the tree is normally only 1 metre tall, this ones about 3 metres tall.

Difficult to guess the size when there is nothing for scale in the pictures.
I don't know C. citrons but maybe this is the species that is the other parent of Little John.
LJ has distinctive grey leaves in tight bunches just like your pictures, unlike the greenish leaves and open habit of most other species.
Sometimes dwarf cultivars do grow a bit bigger than stated in certain situations. Another possibility is that someone has grown seed from LJ and the resulting plants have similar foliage but grow bigger??

It looks almost a match for the tree we have that is 2 to 3 meters high.
Pretty sure here they label them Little John, which is Citrinus/Viminalis but I reckon yours and mine is a Splendens which is a citrinus variety. Leaves and size tend to match.

'Splendens' is an old cultivar which is fairly compact which would match the size and habit of the tree pictured but I'm pretty sure 'Splendens' has green leaves. The ones in the picture are quite silvery grey in colour.
