For you Fig fanciers[/b] this is the untold tale of my very own fig. Back in 1993 I stopped working for David Jones Advertising and had to find information on Computers ( in order to maybe find new work )this involved walking to North Sydney along the harbour edge where lots of Ficus grow. One day on my homeward track I spotted an unusual leaf

It belonged to a small-ish fig which I rescued and have been growing ever since.
The leaves are 3-5cm long smooth surface and lacking hairs on the underside. They reduce with bonsai culture. The plant has a strong tendency to upright growth and needs a lot of training to keep good bonsai shape -sadly I do not have a well cared for one to photograph but I will post a couple to illustrate. I have given away quite a few examples over the years and maybe someone would like to post one
